Plants
How easy was it sir?
To let it go
How easy was it?
To forget the wild flowers in her eyes
That gave your stormy wind shelter?
To quickly change pace
Nothing but indifference
To take something of beauty
Of love
For granted, sir
Is the greatest err of all
What may seem so simple to you now
Her absence
Will haunt your nights, Sir
For when the dawn seems far away
You'll remember the way her hands
Caressed your head when it ached
The smell of her hair
And the sound of her voice
Singing in the corridors
Moving your soul
Waking it up
How easy was it?
To lock the door and forget to water the plants?
It may take months for them to grow
But it only takes a few days to die
You must have noticed it sir?
The wrinkles on her face,
The death of color in her eyes
You must have noticed sir?
How swiftly the fragility in her gait
That once made you swoon
Looked tiresome
You must have noticed sir?
The heaviness in her morning voice
That lingered far too longer than the mornings did
Or was that easy to unsee too sir?
How is it,
That the ones who nurture us
Are the easiest to forget?
The mothers
The sisters
The lovers
How easy was it ?
To watch the light in them
Slowly fade away
