The soon to be – ‘Outdated theory’

Today was one of those days when your IPod’s battery runs down and you’re left disappointed. Well I found another way to pass my time during the rickshaw ride back home. Observe. Greatest activity, I swear. Something a majority of us have stopped doing since we all are so busy in our ‘social’ lives. That last statement just made me laugh. Social? Really? Well of course technologically social would be the right way to put it.
I turn to my left and see a girl, just like me she was sitting in a rickshaw alone. All engrossed in her Smartphone ( S3). On the other side the same scenario was waiting for me to lay my eyes on, this time it was a couple, engrossed in their own respective cell phones. Hell while crossing the street I saw the guy on a cycle who delivers from the general store, busy checking his phone!
I wonder, ‘when did it all change so fast?’ There is no communication in today’s world. Correction: No real communication. We want to ask someone whether they’re free, just text them –‘?’.  We can track down every last move the person made- last seen on whatsapp…
Want to convey your real feelings and don’t have the guts to say it to her/his face. Oh there it is, the solution! Just text him or her! No need to face them. Angry? Want to bitch about someone? Just update your status and don’t mention their name.  ‘What’s on your mind? ’

We can’t sit patiently and talk to our friends when they are right in front of us for more than 40 minutes without checking our messages/notifications. We can survive without food for a day, but not our Smartphone’s, tabs, IPods etc.  In this fast pacing world, the times of visiting our friends and talking to them for hour’s face to face, spending time with our family, enjoying our hobbies, etc., are lost somewhere. But I still hope we can find it, because if we don’t, truly socializing would soon just be an outdated theory that doesn’t have a lot of supporters.
